#SouthofCentral – South St. Pete Happenings You May Have Missed

Story Brooke Craft Coffee St. PeteWhile local treasures like Munch’s and The Chattaway remain firm favorites, the renaissance of South St. Pete has seen several new spots open #SouthofCentral, with more planned for the coming year. Here are a few you might have missed.

Lolita’s Wine Market launched quietly at 16 18th Street S last week, just a couple of blocks from our hub at Central Ave and 21st St. Set in 900-square-foot of characterful space – pink window boxes and colorful interiors – Lolita’s describes itself as “coffee shop meets wine bar”. You’ll find wines from all over the globe, as well as some local craft brews, and create-you-own charcuterie, which you can even take to-go.

At 1437 4th St S, reclaimed and vintage finds adorn the 21-seat hangout Story Brooke, where craft coffee and cocktails are the name of the game. The rotating waffle du jour is a popular draw, and includes combinations like fresh blackberry sauce, white chocolate, kiwi, and torched coconut.

Fabrica Woodfired Pizza, a Channelside staple for the last two years, is set to open its second location on the ground floor of the Hermitage apartment building at 151 7th St. S later this year, mere steps away from our hub. Hand-stretched dough for Neapolitan-style pizza and made-to-order salads and sandwiches can be taken to go, or enjoyed over a leisurely glass of wine.

The Hideaway Pizza Pub is rumored to open by the end of 2017, too, at 3901 6th Street S. Currently under construction in a beautiful 1928 house, the restaurant will have a beachy, surf bar feel, with indoor and outdoor seating on the huge veranda.
