Four Green Fields, the iconic thatched-roof Irish pub on W Platt St in Tampa, has won the bid to open a new restaurant in city-owned space at Curtis Hixon Park.
Construction is expected to start on the 2,500-square-foot location in August and take approximately 16 weeks.
The new venue will offer inside and outside seating, and will be located in a pavilion on Twiggs Street, which overlooks Curtis Hixon Park’s lawn.
“The city received seven very enticing proposals but the Four Green Fields concept with a raw bar is exactly what downtown Tampa is craving,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “For over 25 years, Four Green Fields has been a tried and true staple in Tampa and their vision for the park seamlessly integrates with our busy event schedule while providing a much needed additional food options.”
The seven proposals for the space included bids from Colombia Food Services and Sea Dog Cantina owner John Oraha.
