If you’re out on the streets of St. Pete October 5 – October 14, you will likely observe lots of new murals appearing on walls and buildings as part of the SHINE St. Petersburg Mural Festival, which sees artists travel from all over the world to create art in public spaces around the city.
You might also catch a glimpse of this little guy, our SHINE unicorn bike, designed by local artist Chad Mize. Launched to promote the festival, it was added to the Coast Bike Share fleet of 300+ blue bikes this morning. (But we’re not telling you where.) For a limited time, if you spot it, you can ride it.
Chad said: “The marketing for the SHINE Festival is already great, but transforming a Coast bike into a SHINE bike to promote the event is just another feather in the hat. St. Pete is a cycling city, and seeing the new murals is so much easier by bike. You can just ride the trail and explore. I love the concept of the bike being a different color to the rest of Coast’s fleet and my art lent itself well.”
If you see the new ride, snap a photo and tag us @CoastBikes on Twitter and Instagram with #SHINEbike.
